Carnivals held within the Amazon, more specifically in the Chachapoyas district, in the province known by the same name, is a holiday that, although typical throughout the country, is important and attractive in this area because of the way as it is celebrated.

Carnivals are a holiday before the Lenten season. It is a time of celebration, where dance, music and costumes are always present and together. In the case of the Amazon Carnival, although this one has three key days of celebration, the carnival is present from the first Sunday of February, after which, the water and the balloons loaded with it, become the key and recurring element in the streets of the Amazon villages. There is no person who is saved from the “attack” of water typical of these holidays, but also the blue color product of the aniline with which these “artifacts” are also filled. The color and the attitude of the party is present in all the ways of celebrating the carnival, so you will see, if you go to celebrate it with the Chachapoyas, the presence of talcum and pica pica also as elements released to the public and participants or passersby , at the carnival party.
