Puerto Maldonado

Is the capital of the Madre de Dios region in southeastern Peru. It is also known as the access road south of the Amazon jungle. The central tower of the Obelisk has a view from above to the city, along with exhibits of local history. On the bank of the Madre de Dios River, there is a busy ferry dock, near the Plaza de Armas. Near the city is the biodiverse National Reserve Tambopata that extends through the savanna and the ancient jungle.

The native population of Madre de Dios must have appeared thousands of years ago with the arrival of the Arawakes, who derived in many ethnicities. Then he would relate to the Incas and the Spaniards.
