Llanganuco lagoon

Llanganuco Lagoon (in Quechua Ancashino: Llankanuku, ‘greenish interior’)? It is a high mountain gorge, of glacial origin located in the Cordillera Blanca, within the Huascarán National Park in the Ancashina province of Yungay in Peru.

Two impressive lagoons of crystal clear waters and turquoise color form the famous lagoons of the Gorge of Llanganuco or simply the Llanganuco Lagoon. Located in the Huascarán National Park in the department of Ãncash, 84 kilometers northwest of Huaraz and 25 kilometers from Yungay, the spectacular lagoons of Chinancocha (female lagoon) and Orconcocha (male lagoon) are positioned in a narrow valley between the snow-capped Huascarán , Huandoy, Pisco and Yanapaccha.

The crystal clear waters of the Llanganuco Lagoon and the natural beauty around it are the main attractions for domestic and foreign tourists, who must climb to a height of 3,800 m.a.s.l. with average temperatures of 10 ° C or less, to witness this unmissable natural setting.
